Time for a Clean Slate

It's January 2nd and a lot of us are talking about New Year's Resolutions and embarking on another Whole 30.  This year I'll have recipes and meal plans like last year, but there's a twist.  Every week I'll have a cheat meal rolled into my plan.  The goal is to keep my lifestyle healthy with a plan that I can maintain.

My kiddos are learning their eating habits by what I bring in the house.  Murdock is more at risk.  He has asthma and his symptoms are drastically reduced when he eats a healthy diet.  30 days isn't going to do much for him year round.

Each day, I'll update the blog with the recipe and additions to the shopping list.

January 2nd (Thursday)

Brunch:
2 Eggs, 1/2 Avocado, sliced Tomatos

Dinner:
Chicken Soup with Root Vegetables

January 3rd (Friday)

Dinner:
World's Best Steak
Whole 30er's use olive oil or coconut oil instead of butter as the recipe indicates.

Creamed Spinach
I buy the bag at Costco and cook the entire thing.

January 4th (Saturday)

Dinner:
Cheat Night!!!

January 5th (Sunday)

Dinner:
Bunless Burgers with Bacon, Caramelized Onions and Avocado Slices
Roasted Broccoli with Garlic and Red Pepper

Tip:  Try growing indoor fresh herbs to add a ton of flavor  to meals and cut down on costs.

Seared Ahi Salad

January 7th (Tuesday)
Joe's Special
I'm usiing Swiss Chard instead of Spinach.  Per Instructions use Beef Broth & omit Parmesan Cheese.

January 8th (Wednesday)
Garlic chicken red peppers and mushroom sauce
Try browning the chicken, then finishing it in a 350 degree oven on a baking sheet.  Finish the sauce in the same pan that you used to brown the chicken to add flavor and save time.

January 9th (Thursday)
Seared Salmon with Mango Avocado Salsa

January 10th (Friday)
APPETIZER NIGHT!!!

Tip:  To cut costs buy the veggies that are on sale.  I included all of the veggies from the recipe in the shopping list, but buy what makes sense for You.

January 16th (Thursday)
Ginger Beef Stew with slowcooker option 
sub sweet potato for potato in recipe

January 17th (Friday)
Steak and Mushrooms with Basil Marsala Sauce
Avocado Strawberry Spinach Salad with Poppyseed Dressing
Whole 30er's omit the cheese in the salad

January 18th (Saturday)
GN & Cheat Night...WOOO HOOO!!!!  :)  Last night I was too tired to cook.  I'll be making the salad another night but tonight's dinner will be similar to last nights Steak & Mushrooms.  If you're cheating too....check this recipe out with a glass of Big Bold Red of course!
